White rabbits! How on earth can it be September already? I am struggling now to wonder how I managed to make such a bollock of my to-do list for this year, maybe I write too long a list or maybe it is because things crop up that consume my time and creativity and I devote time to them instead when what I really should do is write whatever it is in my notebook and come back to it when I have time to deal with it. If I put my mind to it I should be able to release the scheduled audio books this year and the end of year podcast of Nottingham music but as for the filming projects, forget it. Organising the monthly gig and all the stress of that has taken up a lot of room this year so you could say it has taken over from radio as my default excuse for never getting anything done. Perhaps this is a sign that I am trying to spread myself a bit too thinly and should concentrate on what I am really good at such as the podcast and the gigs and try to build them taller rather than attempting to keep adding feathers to my cap.
As yesterday was the last Bank Holiday before Christmas I spent it the same way as all self-employed people and worked. They should change the name to Self Employed Catch Up Day or something, as I spent the whole of yesterday in my office frantically hacking away at emails and listening to music while also trying to write some bits and pieces and catch up on the blog. Although I crossed a lot of things off the list I wrote for myself, my desk doesn't seem to have got any tidier and there's a pile of papers with various different functions piled up on the floor waiting to be put in a filing box. I feel as if I have achieved quite a bit, I just wish I had something to show for it.
