Today was set aside for recording the podcast and all the work that goes with it, and to save time tomorrow I have already uploaded it to the Internet Archive and prepared the blog page with a future date. Now all I need to do tomorrow is reset the date to automatic and the whole shooting match is done. Recording it on Sunday puts me under too much pressure so it is nice to know I have very little work to do before going to lunch at my dad's. The big job is the social media advertising blast to bring people in so that I can put my feet up on my desk and lean back in my chair a little knowing that there's new music being pumped into the brains of several thousand people. If only the PayPal button worked on their computers because I am really going through a slump in donations, which is why I haven't been very productive lately. It is frustrating because there is so much I want to get off the ground but if I'm doing things for no reward other than sharing art with people.
In order to try and jolly things along a bit I tweeted a load of adverts but I can't imagine that I will ever get to remake Ben-Hur anytime soon. I've brought down the price of a kazoo cover version and still nothing. When I first came up with the idea of providing this 'service' a small (and wildly optimistic) part of me imagined being swamped with requests and facing the double edged sword of having the donations to enable me to create short films and various other things, but being so busy filming myself playing popular hit songs on the kazoo that it eventually became a full time job. As nice as it would be to draw a wage from the donations, personal financial gain honestly isn't a factor with me. I am not a rich man and I don't eat smoked salmon and caviare sandwiches for lunch and wear diamonds either, I am okay as long as I can buy cigarettes, go to gigs, and take my dog for a walk. Not one penny from the donations, (or my audio book downloads and Sunday Alternative merchandise) goes into my pocket because I want to use it to give something back. My gigs are charged on the door and all the money is equally shared between the acts, I don't take anything. Therefore in theory the upcoming video series of the gigs is a freebie but a rather pricey one to go throwing out there.

If you donate £5 or more, you get to choose a song for me to cover on kazoo for a YouTube video, details here.
Seriously, I am grateful for the donations so if you haven't got round to it yet, I thank you in advance.
