No rest for the wicked, as soon as I returned from celebrating our anniversary in Blackpool I was out of the house wearing my talent show judge hat for another round of live auditions. Part of me is still unsure about the venue as it seems a bit too loud for something as serious as this competition, there are screens everywhere you look showing sports and there is also a pool table. Not only does a pool table make a fair amount of noise, it also attracts the wrong kind of person to a licenced premises at times. I know they do shows here but time will tell if this has been a good idea.

Tony Bates and myself were there to witness three more acts who won't have  much of an agonising wait for the final this coming Sunday. I was tired and not really in the mood as I psyched myself up to leave the house, sometimes this happens to me and there are two ways to deal with it - stay in and admit defeat, get into bed and not be able to sleep because I am thinking about what I am missing, or get on with it knowing that I will be fine once I get there. Of course I am always glad that I pull myself out of the funk and join the human race and last night was no exception. Once again it was a delight, and indeed an honour, to be in the position I am in to be able to discover and in some cases encourage new musicians at ground level.

First up was a teenage singer called Holly Fallon who performed with a guitarist called Jack and I was blown away by their talent and their chemistry. I found out that they are not officially a duo but they should be because they work together so well. Tori Sheard, a singer I was surprisingly unaware of was also on, and someone I knew of but can't remember if I had seen him play was Stacey McMullen. If the auditions are this good the the final is going to be fucking amazing.
