I have managed to organise my working to-do list into such a way that although the week days are quite tiring it means that it clears the decks for a Saturday off. Even if I don't have any particular plans it is nice to not have anything to do, so Saturday effectively becomes my Sunday seeing as I do have podcast admin to do on Sunday morning (if that counts as work). With a clear diary we decided to go on one of our archaeological digs through the charity shops fuelled by a breakfast. Beeston was the destination and I had a nice fry up at Coffee Cup cafe and am happy to report that the service was a big improvement on last time we went.

Sometimes my charity shop swag is quite impressive so I was disappointed with myself this time for not coming away with more. Actually I should really be more disappointed with the shops for not having better stuff. Why blame the shop? I should really be disappointed with the people of Beeston for not being better at donating things that only I am interested in to the plethora of charity shops in the area. As you can see from the photo that illustrates today's blog I managed to add yet another clown to my collection, although I was disappointed (I was fairly easy to disappoint today it seems) that it was just a doll because it looked like a marionette in the shop window and I was visualising a way of using it for something. As I said a few days ago I love the idea of working with puppets but don't really have an outlet for it, so a string puppet clown would have been a good starting point. On a plus side I managed to add to my collection of Top of the Pops and James Last albums, two things that might be about to start making their money back. Early indications are good but it might not come to anything, or they'll go ahead and use my idea without paying or crediting me in a move known as 'Broadway Cinema-ing'.
