Good Friday feels like a Saturday so why is it that Easter Saturday doesn't feel like a Sunday? The truth is that Easter Saturday just feels like a Saturday which is a little unsettling because it is like an extra day off has been given to us but for no reason. Yesterday I had work to do despite it being a holiday, as I still had to transcribe the interview I did with Georgie Rose in longhand to have it ready to type into an article. Luckily I had already recorded the podcast on Thursday so I didn't have that stress to contend with, which gave me plenty of time to work on this assignment with a looming deadline. If you are considering dropping something into my fund using the PayPal button then please note that I worked yesterday. I don't know what the rate for Easter Saturday would be if I worked in a shop because I am never sure if the Saturday is a Bank Holiday or not, so I don't know if the rate is time-and-a-half for Saturday or double time for Bank Holiday. Either way, whatever you can afford to donate is greatly appreciated and will be used to create films, documentaries, comedy sketches, podcasts and so much more depending on how much gets donated.
Aside from the chocolate egg element I have never really embraced Easter, especially not when compared to Christmas (which is a holiday I no longer care for). I wasn't brought up to be religious and the whole Bible story is highly improbable when you consider it so observing religious holidays was never high on the agenda in my family. Before anyone points out that Christmas is a religious holiday, shut up; Christmas is presents, food, alcohol, and television. We are all entitled to believe what we choose to believe so I would never disparage anyone for believing a a God, we all follow our own path and mine doesn't lead to church. I don't doubt that people take a great deal of comfort in prayer, in fact I sometimes envy that confidence in the fact that prayer is the answer. Believing in an all seeing, all knowing man with a white beard who knows exactly what you're up to and judges your behaviour with a reward system might be okay for some, but I'm too old for Santa Claus - see what I did there?
This morning I did my usual Sunday morning routine of releasing the podcast and doing the social media blitz before going to my dad's for lunch. Jack seems to be suffering no after shock from his fight/attack apart from his scabby ear which occasionally caught on his lead making him let out the most girly yelping noise you could hear from a male dog. Thankfully he is still eating and pulling on his lead as if desperate to get to his destination before me so I know he is okay. I managed to talk to another few regulars on the park about the man I had a run in with and everyone is so far agreeing to keep an eye out. I haven't seen the guy since and doubt I will again which is a shame because I am still annoyed that he has got away with it, so far.
