Although I have been unable to finish all my work commitments for the week thanks to my computer problems, I have kept up with the blog on Mandi's computer but have reached a brick wall in other respects. We are nearly in May and there are a worrying lack of crossings out on my to-do list that I feel powerless to do anything about at the moment. At least the audio books would have been done this week if things had gone my way, but I should remember that things just don't go my way. For some reason this hasn't brought me down though, which makes me wonder what sort of trick my mind is playing on me and what horrors are in store.

Not going into a depressive episode as a result of yet another setback might be something to do with the positive feedback I've been getting for the live gigs. This evening I confirmed the first two dates at The Maze - 5th July and 9th August. I'm glad to have got this venue as it is one of the best in Nottingham in my opinion, especially with regards the sound which I would rank above Rock City. Another factor is that they are supportive enough not to give up if not enough people turn up the first time around so I will be allowed to build the night up. I'm planning on booking a good mix of bands and solo performers but also bringing in newcomers to give them exposure (not the 'think of the exposure' bollocks, they'll get paid), and mix it up by not necessarily having them on first. In fact I would be tempted not to publish each performer's set times to ensure people don't just turn up for a specific band.
