I had quite a long to-do list
to get through today including the top priority of recording The Sound of Nottingham UK. This always takes a lot longer
than I think it’s going to, and this week it took a bit longer as I recorded an
extra half hour for an extended podcast version for the Mixcloud account for
reasons that will become apparent tomorrow. I’m playing my cards close to my
chest at the moment, with only a handful of trusted friends being informed of
my plans.
Tomorrow I’m attending an all
day (and night) mini-festival close to my house, which takes away my
opportunity to record the latest podcast edition of The Sunday
Alternative so I was rather ambitiously hoping to do that tonight
too. Of course that didn’t happen how I’d hoped so I may have to record it on
Sunday itself. Due to the secret being revealed tomorrow it was always likely
that I would postpone the release of the podcast until Monday anyway (The Monday Alternative anyone?) so it does at least give me
some extra time to play with. I am going to the theatre on Sunday night and will
have a review to write for the paper when I get home so everything seems to be
crashing into each other this weekend. My workload will be reduced from next
weekend (there’s a clue) so hopefully this kind of build up won’t happen too
often as although I tend to thrive on stress, I am happier without it.
I met once again for a coffee
today with Oliver about filming projects. The ‘TV’ version of The Sunday
Alternative and also Saturday Breakfast have hit a bit of a cul-de-sac at the
moment (it sounds a lot more optimistic than ‘dead end’) but there are other
projects that I can be getting on with in the meantime. Oliver seemed to like my ideas so at least I will
hopefully manage to knock one idea off my to-do list for this year film-wise. All
I really have left is podcast related and bits of audio book work so I’m not
too daunted by the fact that we are nearly at the halfway point of the year.
