I will put out an official press release at the weekend, but suffice to say that I have quit one of my jobs. There wasn’t an argument and I am doing this off my own back, I just feel as though I have run out of steam. The email was sent today and I’ve only told my friend Gary about it so far. Although I feel that I have made the right move I did hesitate over the ‘send’ button for a while. As I said, there will be a statement over the weekend.

My new system of writing a daily to-do list has gone off the rails tonight as I was supposed to have recorded the American show tonight but I went to Gary’s house instead. Gary has Freeview so he showed me some of the brand new local television channel Notts TV. I have to say that all my original predictions were wrong; I have never seen such a polished, professionally presented set of shows as this. The interviews will have Paxman shitting himself, it won’t be long until BBC News 24 or even CNN are waving their cheque books at the presenting team. You genuinely get the impression that you’re watching the channel that all the serious channels aspire to be, hard hitting journalism, quality presentation and a slick air of brilliance. Said. Nobody. Ever.

I am hopeful that at some point tomorrow my teeth will stop itching and my bum will unclench.
