There are days when I don’t
really have anything to write about and today was one of them. Nothing of any
real note happened today, as I have been hard at work in my office attempting
to finish the final three episodes of Steve’s LP Box
and going through my ever-mounting email inbox. There’s a huge amount of new
music to get through which was a nice accompaniment to my work. The thing about
The Sunday Alternative is that I can
welcome all music (all good music that is), and not have to reject people simply
because they aren’t from Nottingham.
I have to re-read all of my
biographies of David Bowie for the next edition of Moonage
Daydream, (it’s a hard job but somebody has to do it), the next one
will be immediately after The 1980 Floor Show
and in the run up to Pin Ups. There’s
the possibility of Jean Genie making a bit of a comeback to do a few editions,
which might be interesting although I hope that she can do them faster than I
can.
My brother was interviewed on
BBC Tees this afternoon about his book, which reminded me that although I have
recorded the prologue of his book as an audio book, I hadn’t sent him the file
for his approval. I emailed that to him and decided to turn the computer off
and watch The Simpsons instead. I’m working far
too hard at the moment, with no regard for the time of day. It isn’t in my work
ethic to simply do nine until five and knock off, and at times like this when I
have something to finish I get worse, working into the late hours and usually
seeing daylight before I fall exhausted into bed.
