I just could not be bothered
getting out of bed this morning, and didn’t get round to my pre-lunch
advertising blitz for The Sunday Alternative.
By the same token, I didn’t listen to Just A Minute
either, which is how I like to start my Sunday. I manage to type things on my
computer while listening to the radio at the same time, which makes me wonder
if I should give a tutorial to the rest of my ‘friends’ on Facebook. They never
seem to be able to do this, despite my rather aggressive hint dropping every
week. They seem able to comment during The X-Factor
and other such drivel, so why they can’t type something along the “wow, I can’t
believe the high quality of music being played here, why the fuck aren’t you on
BBC 6 Music?” lines at the same time as listening to me?
Gary is going on holiday
tomorrow morning and has an early start, so he didn’t join me this week. I was
a little disappointed as I have very little to contribute to the show when I do
it alone, he will be back next week. I wasn’t sure if Cassia was due to join us
or not as we hadn’t spoken since Wednesday, but she texted to say that she wasn’t
feeling well and wouldn’t be able to make it along. The studio lacks a certain
atmosphere these days, as we don’t have the hustle and bustle of a radio station
these days. Maybe it’s because nobody bothers to come in on a Sunday, but I can’t
imagine it being that busy during the day. We only have live programmes in the
evening, and unfortunately people just turn up and do their show and then go
home these days with no social element. There was an eerie feeling to the show
caused by having to let myself in to an empty studio, but at least I managed to
get into the bloody studio this week.
As I had demolished a roast
pork lunch earlier in the day, and was emitting the results of the sprouts
several hours later. With that in mind it was probably a good thing I was on my
own.
