Thursday 18th July

My retrieving of the archive is starting to take shape now, having been able to download a lot of things from The Internet Archive and for free at Bandcamp, (although it would be nice if you would buy my audio books, pay what you like). Everything is now on memory sticks rather than kept on the laptop, and I advise anyone to do the same.

I'm getting there with the latest Moonage Daydream podcast, this one is focusing on The 1980 Floor Show and ending there, so that the next one after that can centre around the release of Pin Ups. I've also got my music sorted out for this week's radio shows, and The Sunday Alternative could surpass itself once again. I just hope the kinks in the new studio have been ironed out.

With the weather being what it is, I have decided to get into open swimming. One thing about living in a city is that I miss the sea. Despite being born in Nottingham and loving the place, aside from brief periods living in York and London, I have always lived by the sea. The freedom to just walk down for a swim is one that everyone should have. Google showed me a couple of wild swimming locations in the area with good reports so I now have a choice of three. Swimming in a lake or river is far more liberating, (not to mention colder), than any public swimming baths, but they do advise on the websites to not go alone just in case you get into trouble. My girlfriend Mandi has no interest whatsoever in swimming in open water, so I posted on Facebook (how very 2008 of me - I didn't throw a sheep though) asking if anyone wanted to join me. Not a single person fancied the idea of wild swimming on Monday, so if I don't make it back then just blame everyone on my Facebook.
