I managed to get some work done yesterday, having a few days to catch up with. During Bank Holidays I make a point of never looking at my emails, so I had a mighty backlog to wade through today, mainly bands sending songs but some business stuff too. With The Sunday Alternative coming back with rather short notice, I made sure a press release went out, but I have ideas for advertising that will happen later on. I have invited members of the press to turn up and witness the show unfolding, which will help if they want to write articles. Having sent some emails, and even typed up some actual letters, (in certain circumstances, postal is a better way to attract attention due to the rarity value), I recorded the audio blog for the last part of February. I still have March to do, but will get caught up when I can. The recording doesn't take long, but I have to convert them to WAV files before uploading them, and the uploading itself takes ages. It's a bit of a pisser though, as I have missed the end of the month, and payday usually leads to a spike in paid for downloads. Thinking about it, I forgot to do 'Saturday adverts' on Twitter this week, which is another way of getting a few quid rolling into the coffers, (the coffers being my PayPal account).

A bit of an unusual radio night for me last night, as I sat in for Lee Beaumont on Castle Rock, Trent Sound's rock show. Lee usually themes the show and has a quiz and a few features, but I decided to make things as easy (for me) and as entertaining (for the listener) as possible. In the first hour I played non-stop 'dad rock', (some of you will know of my liking for 'dad rock', and remember Dad Rock Classics on The Sunday Alternative), without gaps in between songs. I just talked over the intro and outro, something I would never do to an unsigned band out of respect. Hour two was 1990s memories; Guns 'n'Roses, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and such. My favourite was the third hour, when I played non-stop David Bowie, (apart from Nirvana's cover version of 'The Man Who Sold The World' and 'Ziggy Stardust' as done by Bauhaus). I could play Bowie all night and not get bored, so it was great to be sitting in the studio with my headphones on listening to nothing but. I should really try and find the time to get the next edition of Moonage Daydream sorted, but time is something I don't seem to have a lot of at the moment, especially with The Sunday Alternative coming back.

Did I mention that?
