If I didn’t know any better I
would suspect that my brother Jack has written a sequel to his book and rather
than releasing it on its own has decided to keep tacking new chapters on to the
end of the first installment. The trouble is that some of the chapters are
quite short so I rattle through thinking how well I’ve done chapter-wise, until
I realise that I have only knocked through a few pages. It is a sure thing that
I will be working at the weekend to get through this book and set up the page
for it in time. The Bandcamp page will be set up but left as a draft so that
everything is ready for release later in the year. It’s nice to be working in a
boiling hot office and not recording Christmas books to be honest. Next week I
am writing the final draft of a short video I am doing for next year’s Record
Store Day that I hope to be ready to film before this year is over. Record
Store Day isn’t until April of course but I’m trying to get things done well in
advance. In a weird bit of planning I will in three weeks time be writing a
short film for (hopefully) release at Christmas, although it might be Christmas
2015 if it isn’t finished before.
I have pondered before about
whether or not I should abandon the idea of a daily blog seeing as I have so
much going on work-wise. The original intention was to force myself to write
and to pursue my career in a more aggressive way due to being something of a
late starter. Part of me wants to stop doing it but I know that I would miss it
and the obsessive in me would panic about not writing every day. As the work
piles up there is the risk that I won’t have anything too dramatic (or
interesting) to write about as sat writing all day
or another day recording don’t make fascinating
daily records.
