I wanted the documentary about The Sunday Alternative to be of a higher quality than the rest of my filming projects that are going to be made freely available. Apart from the free screenings and publicity fanfare I was hoping to use the film as something of an advert for the show. Anyone who has listened to the show will wonder why it languishes on a small local radio station (despite the worldwide audience), the same is true of a lot of the shows on Trent Sound but we all have the freedom to play what we want.

The crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo hasn’t raised a penny so far, and I am managing to resist all the offers that appear in my email inbox offering me help in raising awareness as I imagine they will be less than legit. By a weird twist though, contributions to my PayPal account (the donate button is above this blog) have risen slightly, so maybe people prefer the anonymity of the donate button although I don’t know if Indiegogo give me the names of contributors. If you can’t spare the money then a share on Facebook or a retweet on the better site is contribution enough for me as it at least raises awareness of the campaign. I’ve been tweeting it from my own account and the Twitter accounts of The Sunday Alternative and Trent Sound, it has been getting a fair amount of retweets but they aren’t converting to donations. The film isn’t due out until September so I may have to sideline it a bit (it’s mostly written for my part) and get some other things out of the way first. If this campaign doesn’t take off at all I may leave it until later in the year and bring the target amount down, and lessen the price of the rewards and see what happens then.

Please don’t forget that in return for a small contribution you get free videos and podcasts, you also get 365 blogs a year.

Once again I am full of cold and dealing with it in my usual way, Lemsip (other powered cold cure drinks are available, unless Lemsip want to sponsor me), tablets, layers of clothing to help sweat it out. I had no recollection of recording my American show this evening and woke up having fallen asleep on the sofa in a blind panic as I couldn’t remember doing it so had to check my sent emails to make sure.
