Monday 12th August

Inspired by the conversation I had with Gary on his birthday, in which we agreed that we needed to think differently about how to promote gigs in Nottingham, I came up with an idea and have decided to run with it. I mentioned it to Gary, and he thought it was genius. I mentioned it to Darren, my NottinghamLIVE co-presenter, and he didn't refer to it again until I brought it up. Full details are a secret for now, as I am very wary of my ideas being stolen as has happened before, but hopefully I'll be able to spill the beans soon. I can say that it takes the form of a music festival of sorts, and having posted adverts on Twitter and Facebook, (remember Facebook? It's making an inexplicable comeback), I now have a confirmed line-up of musicians, each one sworn to secrecy.

The trouble is that at the moment, I only have one venue, and I need four more for this to work. I texted Gary to say that the first venue was in place, and we went into a list of possible venues for a follow up to this concept. Although what we have in mind is rather unorthodox, I have every confidence that it will be a success. There's no money in it, but we will be releasing a DVD of the whole thing for sale a little further down the line.

Getting the full line up of five bands confirmed on the same day was brilliant news of course, although it might now give me that false sense of security about planning such events being such a breeze.

Full details will be released next week. Hopefully.
