I was meant to be filming the Nottingham Live TV show this afternoon, but for some reason it was postponed. I spent most of today catching up on some work, (on a Saturday, I am a trooper), before going to the Trent Sound to appear on Nottingham LACE. Originally I was going to talk about the TV show, but decided to wing it instead, and return to the glory days when I used to turn up and wind Jason up on air. Surely the listeners have missed me making fun of Jason and seeing how far I can go? That in itself is radio gold.
With nothing to talk about, I decided to still mention White Collar Zoo TV, which was what I originally went in to talk about, but made a promise to myself that I wouldn't use the slot as a platform for self promotion of my other projects. Many said it couldn't be done, but I was so determined that I prepared a list of questions that Jason wouldn't be allowed to ask me.
- He was forbidden from asking about The Sound Of Nottingham UK, the radio show I do in America on Robin Hood Radio. I also refused to mention the UK broadcast times of Saturday at 4am and Sunday at 6pm.
- I expressly forbade him from asking me about taking over as presenter on Nottingham Live Radio, marking my triumphant return to UK radio, Wednesday nights, 7pm-10pm only on Trent Sound.
- Under no circumstances was I going to be drawn into talking about the second series of Steve's LP Box, or that the first series is available online.
- I was going to refuse to talk about how you can have my blog delivered to your Kindle for a mere 99p a month, or that the audio book versions are available to download for free or otherwise.
- I had also decided that I wouldn't talk about Musings, Christmas Musings, and my latest book First Draft, all available on Kindle.
- The fact that you can download the audio books of Musings, First Draft, and my blog Last Christmas for free or pay what you wish , was another thing I wasn't going to mention. Nor was I going to mention the audio book of A Christmas Carol.
