When I sent this week's edition of The Sound Of Nottingham UK over the Atlantic, I asked about the possibility of doing it live from time to time. Only the Sunday show, as that would be more workable. I could set the show up on my computer as normal, and call the studio's Skype and broadcast through. Robin Hood Radio could then play it straight through. Maybe it isn't that easy but I would like to try. To get round the fact that it isn't live, I tweet from the show's twitter account during the Sunday broadcast. I have been in touch with several bands and am now looking forward to recording some live sessions, and getting on board with Nottingham Live Radio, as this city has a fucking awesome music scene.

Three bands that you should keep an eye on:

The CTRL

They only got in touch a little while ago to send me some music, and I was instantly blown away. As you may have heard me say on air, you wouldn't know that they were a group of sixteen year olds, as they sound like they've been at it for years. Unfortunately, I am in London for the David Bowie exhibition on one of the dates, but I am looking forward to seeing them in March when they perform at The Maze.

Prefontaine

Another band who found me on Twitter or Facebook, I forget which. Although they haven't gigged a lot just lately, I'm looking forward to seeing them do their first gig of 2013 at The Lacehouse on March 6th. They are a prolific band who have a load of songs on their Sound Cloud page, and I've championed them in America already. Hopefully they'll make a dent in the public eye this year.

Captain Dangerous

I don't need to say anything about these guys that I haven't already said, they stand alongside Raleigh, John Players, HP Sauce, and Robin Hood as quality Nottingham exports.
