The LP Box segment of tonight's show (Never Mind the Bollocks) will come with a warning about language content, mainly because it features the Bill Grundy interview. I found the full length version and I was amazed at how tame it sounds today. Also, despite all the moral outrage being directed towards the punks, surely someone in the production gallery must have seen that they were goaded into it by Bill Grundy, who is pissed and doesn't really know who the band are. John Lydon says "shit" and was asked by Grundy what he had said, and Lydon apologise for saying a rude word and only said the word again after Grundy insisted on hearing it. Steve Jones only called Bill Grundy a "dirty bastard", a "dirty fucker" and a "fucking rotter" because Grundy was patronising, drunk, and letching at the young women. The outrage should never have been pointed at the band, rather the presenter.
