My weekend sort of continues
today as I have booked two days of ‘holiday’ from the courtroom in order to
complete the last audio book of the year and get it released. I won’t actually
be doing any recording until tomorrow as today I am supposed to be clearing the
decks of work so that I will be able to give my all tomorrow at the microphone.
Admittedly I got off to a slow start this morning by going back to bed when
Mandi left the house and not waking up until ten o’clock, I thought Jack would
be climbing the walls to go out for a walk/crap but he was fast asleep on the
bed so I didn’t feel too bad. I felt bad waking him up from a deep sleep and
removing him from a warm bed in a warm house to take him on the park in the
freezing cold, but the two of us soon got over it and spent an hour playing
fetch. We had breakfast, fried egg sandwiches for me and Pedigree Chum for him
(I was careful not to mix the two up) before I finally parked my arse on my
office chair and set about today’s to-do list.
I am not usually that great at
getting on with it as I am too easily distracted, but by banning myself from
YouTube and all those social media things I was able to get on with it. Before
I started I considered disconnecting my Internet connection as a precaution but
as I had to send a shitload of emails I could see a flaw in my plan. By some
miracle I was able to cross off everything on the list of things I had to do
over today and tomorrow, if only I had a trilby hat to adjust to a jaunty angle
while I put my feet up on my desk and light a cigar.
A new banner has appeared
underneath my big picture on this blog, PayPal emailed me (I imagine they
emailed everyone with a PayPal account, I’m not imagining that I’ve been
singled out as a star pupil) to suggest that I put it on my site. Everyone who
clicks on it can win a prize, and I am now in line to win enough money to make
some of my more expensive visions come true.
To be honest it doesn’t make
very interesting reading for you poor readers, but I caught up with some of the
more important emails and did some writing for a project that I won’t be starting
on until the New Year. Regarding next year’s projects I have secured a band for
a thing thanks to a quick post online. Having said that, the band doesn’t
actually know what they have agreed to so I might have to ask around again when
I tell them.
