I want to be able to say I’m
glad the working week is over but I am so far behind that I’m going to have to
work tomorrow for a few hours. First priority is recording The Sunday
Alternative, now a weekly podcast, and catching up with the audio
book and podcast series. If I really set my mind to it I should catch up with
myself over the next couple of weeks as long as I concentrate on one thing at a
time and don’t allow myself to get too stressed out. Tonight I intend to relax
with Mandi and not worry about work, and try and motivate myself to chip away
at the rock face tomorrow.
Eastenders wasn’t on tonight for some reason, possibly something to do with the Commonwealth
Games. While we were having dinner (on our knees in front of the telly) the
only thing to watch was a series on Channel Five called On The
Yorkshire Buses. This could be the worst sitcom remake ever. I am
funny. It wasn’t really a sitcom remake you see but a fly-on-the-wall documentary
series. It’s not a bad idea to pick the name of a sitcom and make a
semi-serious documentary around it. With this in mind Channel Five can have the
following ideas:
Bread: Following the day to day running of a bakery in Liverpool.
Love Thy
Neighbour: A look at relations between next
door neighbours of different ethnic backgrounds.
Love Thy
Neighbours: A look at people whose lives
are consumed by their obsession with the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
High-De-High: A look at people who regularly use cannabis.
Faulty
Towers: A look at blocks of flats, office
blocks etc that were erected with a total lack of regard for the building
regulations.
My first thought was utter surprise that Channel
Five is still going, surely nobody watches it do they? It was quite good when
it first started despite the fact that hardly anyone could receive it, now
everyone can receive it but chose not to.
