With the merry month of May
soon to appear, I was starting to get a little bit anxious about how little
progress I have made in my career just lately. To be honest, the actual list
that I made at the beginning of the year is being worked through at a
satisfactory pace. What is bothering me is how slow the process is, there are
really only two filming projects on my list, but they have been on my list for
several years now and haven’t had the time to do anything with them yet.
Finding a film company has been an issue, which is bizarre considering how many
people around here claim to be the owner of a ffilm company. The other
stumbling block has been money, then again isn’t money always the problem. This
is why I set up the PayPal button on the blog, and decided that as a return of
the favour I would release the film for free.
Aside from the two films the
only other projects are podcasts and writing, all of which can be achieved from
the comfort and convenience of my office at home. I’ve written myself a more
realistic list of goals that can be dealt with by the end of the year. Most of
these are admin based, deleting several websites that I no longer feel the need
for among other things. I also have this year’s Charles Dickens Christmas audio
book to record and the much postponed audio book of my brother’s novel Whatever Happened To Nathan McKenzie? to finish, having only
recorded the prologue so far. There’s some other bits and bobs too that I will
post on the newsletter as they happen, (I really need to get under the bonnet
of my blog pages to update a lot of it). The video series version of The Sunday
Alternative is going to be the biggie, and hopefully the cookery series. I have
been informed that the cookery series could be a problem as I want to film it
in a cafĂ© kitchen, and I don’t have certain health and safety certificates. As
I won’t be selling food that I have made I don’t know if this will halt the
show or not, but hopefully I will have this issue resolved pretty soon.
