I am finding it harder and harder to keep the momentum going for a daily blog, especially on days when absolutely nothing happens worth writing about. Today might have been such a day if it hadn’t been for the behavior of my dog, Jack.

My local park, as I am sure I’ve already mentioned, has an unwritten system between dog owners. If the gate is closed you don’t take your dog in, you wait until the other person (and indeed the dog) has finished. Jack is a loveable little dog when at home, but show him another dog and he becomes a thug. I was throwing his ball for him to fetch when a man I had never seen before opened the gate and brought his dog in. Jack ran straight for it and started a fight. He doesn’t respond to his name in this situation, so I had to try and get between them and pull Jack away. As I picked him up I turned to the other guy and pointed out that the gate was closed. When I pointed out the ‘code’ he said that there was no such rule and as it is a public park he can bring his dog in if he so wishes. After a pointless argument in which I was right and he was wrong, he threatened to call the police and report me for having a dangerous dog. I’ll talk to the other regular dog walkers to get some sort of back up about the gate system.

This evening I had planned to go out to Jam CafĂ© to catch The Most Ugly Child and The Golden Troubadours playing. My plan was simple, record this week’s edition of The Sound of Nottingham UK and have a shower while it was processing in Google Drive so I could then send it over the Atlantic. After eating my dinner I would be out of the door and at the venue by just after nine o’clock. What actually happened is that I recorded the show with no problems whatsoever, but I couldn’t save it because my computer was full. After doing a disk clean and a defrag, and deleting Skype (I’ve used it about three times and can install it again if I ever need to), I also had to delete some things I didn’t really want to such as music, but I only got rid of free downloads as I can get them back fairly quickly. I’ve been meaning to sort out my archive for ages, and this has given me the wake up call to get everything backed up.

I am writing this in a break I gave myself to calm down a little, I’m going to have my dinner and return to the show recording in a short while. Chances are I am not going to the gig tonight after all.
