To save her from having to listen to my radio show, Mandi took Emily to the cinema after lunch. For some strange reason, Emily thinks my show is uncool. I know!
I thought I was going to miss the start of the show, as I missed the tram. On my way back from my dad's I checked the times and saw that there was a tram to Bulwell at twenty five to seven, so left the house accordingly. When I noticed that there wasn't an iminent tram, I realised that I had read the wrong timetable and the twenty five to tram was bound for Phoenix Park. (For none Nottingham readers, the tram line splits into two after my stop), and the tram I wanted wasn't until ten to. I managed to get to the studio during the hourly news, and quickly got my first few songs together. Usually, I would go to the shop first and get some drinks and crisps, but that had to wait until the eight o'clock news, when a ten minute song allowed me to pop out and get back in time. It was a good show music-wise of course, (I only choose the best tracks from my own colection), but doing the show on my own is difficult. Gary is ill, which is a real pain for a teacher at the start of the summer holidays as nobody likes being ill in their own time.
One advantage of the new time slot is that I (and indeed the rest of the UK) get to watch brand new editions of Family Guy on BBC3, the only time that BBC3 is worth turning on. During the old run of The Sunday Alternative, this wasn't possible, as for some reason Family Guy and American Dad don't appear on demand. As my show now finishes at nine, I am expecting a thank-you card from BBC3 anytime now. We watched Family Guy before watching Final Destination. Emily and Mandi watched Final Destination while I did some stuff on the laptop, but I soon got hooked in to the story. As much as I miss watching Sesame Street and Postman Pat (proper) with Emily, or in later years Disney films, Hannah Montana, David Tennant era Doctor Who, and the like, it is nice to be able to watch something a bit more grown up with her now. The gory violence was done in a very Tom and Jerry fashion, so it wasn't something I was too bothered about exposing Emily to, (besides, she's seen it before apparently) but I did flinch a little when a sex scene popped up on screen. At the time, I was still on the laptop but I was drawn to the actress's boobs, (she was on top) before I realised that the girl I used to watch Teletubbies with was also watching. I can't remember a more awkward moment in my life.
