Saturday, 27 April 2013

We woke up reasonably early today, by which I mean around eleven o'clock. I had planned another day of not working, which is how a Saturday should be spent. There was no plan, aside from a bit of shopping and lunch. Mandi had to buy several items of stock for her new business, and I had nothing whatsoever to do apart from try not to think about how much work I have to do.

In light of a recent story in the local papers, I had to get my electric cigarette out for a go while walking through the shopping centres. They, and the Wetherspoon pub chain, (which I'm never likely to go in so it doesn't matter) have apparently banned the use of these instruments. As it says on the advertising that these are perfectly legal to smoke indoors, thus side-stepping the smoking ban, so it isn't really their call to make their own rules when there is a law in place. I was looking forward to an argument with someone, (just as my late granddad would have done, except he'd have lit up for real), but my rebellious smoking-but-not-really-smoking antics went totally ignored. They were banned because they apparently cause confusion with real ciggies, despite being enormous in comparison, so anyone confused shouldn't be allowed out in public without a helper.

Back to work tomorrow, on a Sunday. I have the hardest job in the world!
