I mentioned once again on Twitter how once again I have had a productive month of February, having recorded thirteen hours of radio, (combining NottinghamLIVE and The Sound Of Nottingham UK), a six part series of Steve's LP Box, a television pilot for NottinghamLIVE, one review for the Nottingham Evening Post, (as I still call it), and the big announcement that I was to take over the Moonage Daydream podcast. Not bad for twenty eight days. I keep a pocket diary with notes on when I do these things, so a monthly summary is quite an easy task.

The downside of working so hard is that I haven't been spending enough quality time with Mandi, besides sharing a bed for sleep and 'other', and mealtimes. I always work better at night as a rule, (this blog is being written at half past three in the morning for example), which means that my working day starts when Mandi goes to sleep. For that reason, we decided that today would be all about us with no work involved. We didn't wake up until half eleven, which slightly knackered our plans, as our plans were to leave the house at half past ten. We went into town and had a bacon sandwich before heading down to Highfields for a walk around the lake in the spring sunshine. I had wanted to have a coffee in the cafe, as I like a cappoccino on a Saturday, (I call it a cup of chino as I'm hilarious), but we realised that the cafe also sold beer. What nicer way to spend some time on a Saturday afternoon than having a drink surrounded by noisy children? I liked the beer because it looked like it was served in old fashioned medicine bottles.

I know it is more of a Friday thing, but we had a chippy tea and watched Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Ant and Dec were on fine form, this is what Saturday night light entertainment should be like. They make Britain's Got Talent and their bits on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here are the only good bits. On here though, they show that they are the new kings of Saturday night and Morecambe and Wise should rest easy. Ant even did the face slap at one point, during a piano piece that could have been taken from the glory days of music hall. A truely great family friendly comedy double act is something we should be on the lookout for, as Ant and Dec will eventually need replacing. The only other one I can think of with family appeal is The Chuckle Brothers.

We made a slight dent in our 'to watch' pile of DVDs, some aren't even out of the cellophane, and watched Rock Of Ages and Dark Shadows, so that's our Christmas present DVDs finally watched.
