I have decided to confine all the shameless plugging of my wares to Saturday mornings on Twitter in the future, so as not to clog everything up. That gives people plenty of time to read it all before I delete them on Monday morning. When it comes to the books, I have an initial blast of sales and then everything fizzles out so this way hopefully it'll help to continue selling them. I haven't recorded the audio book version of my blog for ages due to time, but I hope to crack on with that at some point over the weekend, (working on a weekend, what a trooper). That has the potential to be a good earner, but last month the bulk of downloading happened on the last few days of the month, which I assume was payday for a lot of people, and they were treating themselves. It is all much appreciated, and helps me to carry on making podcasts and other such free content. The PayPal button above this blog is also a good way to show support, just saying.

Anyway, self-promotion aside, I was determined to make today a none-working day, as it really isn't cool to dedicate every hour to work. As my career has improved over the last few years, I have become aware of the fact that I'm doing it in the wrong order, and that I am now getting too old to rest on my laurels. The knock on effect has been to turn me into a workaholic to some extent, seemingly working better when I have some amount of stress to niggle me. There is still a mountain to climb as far as achieving all of my goals is concerned, but I'm getting there. My dream of retiring when I'm forty to make wooden toys might be a bit ambitious, perhaps when I'm forty one.

Having said that I wanted today to be work free, I had a little bit of filming to do for Andi Osho's Brit.I.am project, which I opted to do in the Lace Market on a set of steps that I love. I also like the brick work around there, and the knowledge that each brick was carried up a ladder and laid by hand by someone who hadn't wasted his morning reading a health and safety assessment. Walking back from the Lace Market towards town, I saw this sign...

It turns out that Mandi knows Rupert from her work at the Ministry of Justice, and what makes this even more brilliant is the fact that his brother is also a solicitor, his name is Edward. A shortened Edward is of course Ted, which proves that their parents had a sense of humour. I'd have gone with Fozzie!
