Don't Stop Believin'

I had yet another vital piece of proof what I have been saying for years about the power of download and the influence anyone can have on the hit parade.

All you need to do is submit your song to itunes, promote it yourself, and watch it climb the charts. No record company, no managers, no agents, and nobody siphoning your money away.

At number nineteen in the charts this week, 'Don’t Stop Believein’' by Journey.

I have no idea why this song has had resurgence. It was covered on last weeks X-Factor, and Peter Griffin tried to stop the closure of The Drunken Clam with a karaoke blast.

While there is no denying it is a lovely song, it is a bit ‘father’s day compilation cd’. You can imagine pale blue jeans, white trainers, and a leather jacket with a sleeveless denim jacket over the top covered in sew on patches. But good for Journey, and the power of downloading. Obviously, the internet helped a bit, and not just itunes but the various online petitions.

This whole thing is something I have said many times in the past. So many times that I cannot be bothered finding links for all of them, but the first time I mentioned it is here.
