Sunday, 13 April 2014

Today was one that I could have quite happily slept through, but I was up just before twelve and went downstairs to listen to The Unbelievable Truth on the radio while Mandi (who was already up) was getting ready. It’s been a while since I was able to listen to the midday comedy slot on Radio 4 on a Sunday, either by being asleep or on the radio (make your own jokes there if you see fit). We take Jack to my dad’s on Sunday lunchtime now so he doesn’t need taking for a walk before we go out; this saves a bit of time in the long run although he does tend to dawdle.

Lunch was a roast beef dinner with everything, and although I didn’t feel up to plating up another meal afterwards I did eat a bowl of cold sprouts. It was perhaps for the best that I spent some time in the office away from Mandi’s disapproving nose for the evening.

Although I really don’t want to be working over the weekend, (apart from the radio show which I would do again in a heartbeat), I spent a few hours in my office trying to get through my emails. They were mostly work related, music for The Sunday Alternative when it returns as a podcast. I was only going to make the podcast version half an hour long, but with the amount of music I have ready I could go longer. What I may do is just maintain a level of flexibility when it comes to the ending of the show, around the half hour-forty minutes area. There’s enough music coming in to be able to do the podcast weekly, but I am trying to alleviate pressure rather than add to it.
